ACT FAST! £150 energy grant expires soon!
Thousands of elderly and vulnerable park home residents across England, Scotland and Wales could be missing out on £150 towards their energy bills, as well as the opportunity to have a brand new electrical appliance installed. The Charis Park Homes Warm Home Discount will be closing to new applicants at the end of the month.
The £150 is paid direct into the recipient's bank account, and they are also sent a Winter Warmth Bundle containing products designed to increase the energy efficiency of their park home. In addition, they have the opportunity to apply for the replacement of older, inefficient appliances such as fridges and cookers with new, more energy efficient models.
The Charis Park Homes Warm Home Discount scheme is released every autumn, aimed specifically at permanent park home residents who do not have a direct relationship with an energy supplier. Their utilities are usually paid direct to the site management.
In collaboration with Ofgem, Charis established the Park Homes Warm Home Discount scheme back in 2015 to bridge the gulf affecting the majority of park home residents who were not in direct contact with their energy supplier, and therefore did not receive an automatic discount.
Eligibility benefits apply - applicants need to be living in a park home, and either receive government support or benefits, or have a household income below £18,723.
For anyone who has yet to apply, they can do so through Charis' dedicated Park Homes Warm Home Discount application page.
