Automation UK Preview: RARUK Automation to Showcase Latest Robotic Technology

As a founding exhibitor of Automation UK, the inclusive new exhibition hosted by BARA (British Automation & Robot Association), RARUK Automation will be showcasing a range of their latest robotic solutions. Taking place on the 20th and 21st of June at the CBS Arena in Coventry, the event offers a platform for end-users to find out more about automation and discuss their requirements with industry experts.

RARUK Automation, a leading UK distributor of automation solutions, will be exhibiting two Universal Robots collaborative robot (cobot) application solutions, a Mobile Industrial Robots autonomous mobile robot and the ER-FLEX mobile cobot.

Universal Robots 6-axis cobot arms are known for their flexibility and their ability to safely operate alongside humans. As the only UK Platinum Partner of Universal Robots, RARUK Automation offer a range of plug-and-play robotic end-effectors that enable cobots to be adapted to a variety of tasks.

At Automation UK, RARUK Automation will be showcasing Robotiq’s Screwdriving Solution. The off-the-shelf solution can transform a cobot into an efficient screwdriving cell. There’s no need for complex programming, as the solution automates the force-capabilities and communication between the screwdriver, screw feeder and robot. The solution utilises vacuum technology, so it is suitable for use with various screw head types made of both magnetic and non-magnetic materials. It is ideal for small assembly tasks requiring precise torque.

The other Universal Robots application solution that will be showcased on RARUK Automation’s stand is a robotic polishing demonstration. Cobots can be used to automate both sanding and polishing tasks when fitted with a Mirka end-effector. The solution can be customised to suit specific application needs and is suitable for use on a variety of surfaces. The software is designed to enable easy teach path generation for 3D surfaces. It utilises the cobot’s built in force torque sensor for precise force control.

Completing the UR+ product range on show and complimenting the polishing kit is the Vention modular robot stand.  Vention offer a range of modular robot stands, application kits and accessories that will help improve the speed and simplicity of cobot deployment.  The Vention products can easily be configured and simulated using the free software on their website.  Designs can be created from individual components or pre designed application kits that can be easily modified.

The MiR250 mobile robot will also be on display. This AMR sets new standards for internal logistics. The entire MiR range is designed to work safely in harsh, industrial environments. The mobile robots have built-in multi-sensor systems and cameras that enable the robots to avoid collisions and plan efficient routes. The MiR250 can navigate smoothly and safely around dynamic environments, and can even drive through doors as narrow as 80cm.

As part of the AMR demonstration, the MiR250 will be fitted with a ROEQ top module. Robotic equipment from ROEQ is designed to extend the capabilities of AMRs, allowing mobile robots to transport carts and pallets and transfer loads to conveyor stations. RARUK Automation have recently been named a ROEQ Top Partner, as well as a MiR Excellent Partner.

The ER-FLEX from Enabled Robotics combines technology from Mobile Industrial Robots and Universal Robots, creating a mobile robot with the flexibility of a 6-axis cobot arm. At the show, the ER-FLEX will be loading and unloading a mock CNC machine.
