It's been more than 35 years sinceThe Christiansburst onto the scene with their eponymous album that delivered a slew of chart-topping hits and still remains Island Records highest selling debut album.

UK tour dates for 2024 have been announced including a show at London's Union Chapel and a hometown performance at Mountford Hall in Liverpool. Tickets are on sale from Friday 29 September.

Forgotten Town, Hooverville, When The Fingers Point, Ideal World and Born Again were all hits from their first album that will be revisited on the new headline tour.

Made up of some of Liverpool's finest musicians, The Christians - who opened for some of the biggest artists of the time including James Brown and Fleetwood Mac -  are still fronted by the enigmatic Garry Christian and are enjoying a resurgence on the live circuit joining Level 42 on a 22-date UK tour.

The summer headline dates for the band are set to be an opportunity to revisit all of the band's greatest hits, with a catalogue spanning over three decades that still packs a punch live.

Lead singer Garry Christian said: "We're over the moon to be getting back out on the road again, we've been having a great time performing together and can't wait to bring the full headline show and all the hits out to fans across the country next summer."

Accompanied by a tight band, the shows are set to be packed with beautiful harmonies, heartfelt songs and a memorable performance from one of the best loved and highest selling bands of their era.

A recent review of a show this year said: "Go and see them if you get the chance - they're as soulful, as bluesy, as funky as they ever were, and perhaps even funnier." - The Broken Spine

Another recent review sums them up: "The Christians are one of those class bands a bit like Crowded House or Talk Talk that are buried in the 80s mist of time and until you hear their music again you realise you'd forgotten how much you loved them, how beautiful the harmonies were and still are, how apt the sentiments of the songs are ... and you find yourself becoming very emotional and singing the words to every song."
