KINGSBRIDGE EMPLOYEES TAKING GREENER STEPS
Kingsbridge Insurance has recently launched its own employee climate group, made up of volunteer employees, they are tasked with looking at and implementing any ideas put forward from staff, which can help the company be more eco-friendly.

Jane Cox, Project Manager at Kingsbridge said, “We have an in-house suggestion scheme to encourage new ideas, anyone who makes a suggestion that we then put into practice, receives a voucher of their choice. Some of the larger ideas we have implemented include, installing EV charging points and creating an EV salary sacrifice scheme, allowing employees to save money on buying an electric car.”

Jane continued, “We’ve estimated our total annual CO2 emissions to see where we can make improvements. Kingsbridge is virtually paperless in its day-to-day running, there is only one printer per location, as printing is discouraged unless absolutely necessary. We are also looking at changing to an eco-friendly stationery supplier, as well as installing hand dryers and auto turn-off taps.”

Our cycle-to-work scheme, publishing of local bus timetables and a yearly step-challenge is all aimed at encouraging staff to walk or cycle where they can. We also provide reusable cotton shopping bags, so anyone popping out for lunch can grab a bag as they go.

Kingsbridge has been providing specialist insurance, consulting and financial services to the UK’s contractor and freelancer workforce for more than 20 years. We have industry leading expertise relating to the insurance, risk management and the IR35 needs of this key sector.
