KINGSBRIDGE INSURANCE - Supporting their employees during cost-of-living crisis

UK based Kingsbridge Insurance is looking to ease some of the cost-of-living crisis for its employees by providing free breakfast and lunch each day, as well as a number of other supportive measures.

Paul Havenhand, CEO at Kingsbridge said, “We take the welfare of our employees very seriously, and staff morale is important to us. With the cost-of-living biting everywhere, we wanted to show them some extra support where we can. As well as the breakfast and lunch provisions, we have also introduced a number of other benefits such as extra holiday allowance from January 2023, rising from 22 to 25 days a year.”

 

Paul continued, “We recently launched Perkbox, which allows employees to find and use discounted goods and services. We add fifty points to their accounts each month, which they can spend on things that matter to them, they can also save their points for bigger savings. Perkbox also has a wellbeing hub, which employees can access to find materials and articles to help with their wellbeing. In addition, we have a number of Mental Health First Aiders on hand, so should anyone be having a bad day or just need to talk to someone in confidence about anything, that extra support is there for them.” 

We all know that exercise can play a key role in your physical and mental wellbeing, so at the Tewksbury based head office we pay for two sessions per week at the local gym. Any employees, whether based at the head office or just visiting can join in the classes. They can also access sessions like Yoga, Pilates, and other workouts through their Perkbox account. 

Employees are discouraged from eating at their desks, we have break out areas to ensure they take time away from their work. This includes a lounge with comfy chairs, take-a-book, leave-a-book library, and games such as table football, ping pong and an arcade machine. We also know dogs can have a de-stressing affect, so employees can also bring their dogs to work if they wish.

Breakfast and Lunch Provisions: The range of breakfast items includes cereals, an assortment of breads, porridge, and fresh fruit. Lunch items range from salads, soups, jacket potatoes and sandwich fillers. This is in addition to the usual tea, coffee and a variety of chilled soft drinks and juices.
