SASIG and Cyber 9/12 working together to find the next generation of cyber professionals
SASIG, The Security Awareness Special Interest Group,has enrolled annual competition hosts Cyber 9/12 as their latest associate organisation, to jointly boost awareness and understanding about careers in cybersecurity and attractthe next generation of cyber professionals.  

 

Martin Smith MBE, founder and chairman of SASIG, said: “We are delighted to be working with Cyber 9/12 to promote careers in the cybersecurity profession. They’ll be joining us at our Skills Festival to promote their UK Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge competition, which is a fantastic opportunity to engage with cyber enthusiasts at British universities and help them grasp an exciting and rewarding career.” 

 

As well as the career and graduate opportunities being showcased at SASIG’s Cybersecurity Skills Festival on 22 February 2022, delegates will also be able to speak to organisations, including Cyber 9/12,about cybersecurity skills training and personal development 

 

Cyber 9/12’sUK Strategy Challenge is an annual competitionbuilt around an escalating cyber crisis affecting the UK which challenges university students to consider the strategy and policy implications and not just the technological dimensions of responding to a cyber incident.It isdesigned to identify and foster future policy and strategy leaders who will protect commerce, industry, public services and national infrastructure from cyberattacks.  

 

UK undergraduatesfrom a range of disciplines are being encouragedto attend the SASIG Cybersecurity Skills Festival and discover more aboutwhat a career in cybersecurity has to offer.  

 

Robert Black, Director of the UK Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge said: “As a member of the SASIG community I have personally benefited directly from the sense of community and support that SASIG offer so I am excited to be establishing a partnership between the UK Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge and SASIG where we can work together to support, develop and inspire the next generation of cyber security leaders. 

 

The 3rd Edition of SASIG’s Cybersecurity Skills Festival is a virtual event being held on Tuesday 22 February 2022. The festivalwill feature high-profile presentations and workshops about the latest cybersecurity issues as well as career advice. A jobs fair will run alongside the festival,hosting hundreds of job vacancies and opportunities to meetmore than 40 private firms and public sector organisations with current vacancies
