Sport and community groups are to be offered the opportunity to lease the site of a former bowling green pavilion in Hailey Park and the changing rooms at Lisvane Recreation Ground, both of which are owned by Cardiff Council.
A council spokesperson said: "Lease arrangements of this type are already in place in many of Cardiff's parks, delivering investment in existing facilities, helping increase participation in sport and enabling local community organisations and sports clubs to unlock new funding opportunities."
All existing facility and pitch users have been made aware of the proposals. As a result of the proposals legal notices have been published advertising the ‘disposal' of 0.07 acres of land at Lisvane Recreation Ground and 0.03152 hectares of land at Hailey Park.
‘Disposal' is a legal term which, in this case, refers to the granting of a lease. All land will remain in the ownership of Cardiff Council.
Marketing of the opportunities will commence once all necessary legal processes have been completed. Full details will be made available on the Cardiff Council Property website: https://cardiffcouncilproperty.com/
