Common Sense Gardening returns to the Garden Press Event

The Common Sense Gardening group is exhibiting at the Garden Press Event, to be held at London’s Business Design Centre on February 27 2019.

This occasion offers the industry a unique chance to showcase its newest products to key figures in the home and garden media exclusively.

Heralding the start of the gardening season, the event is now in its fourteenth year.

Gary Phillpotts, chair of Common Sense Gardening, said: “We’re really excited to attend the show and speak to journalists about our recent research. We’ll also be using the chance to dispel a few common gardening myths.

“Come and see us on Stand H119 if you’re there – and pick up a bag of free garden goodies!”

Conducted during  the summer of 2018, the company’s research, which questioned more than a thousand gardeners aged 18 to 60, reveals the demographics of consumers buying garden care products and their reasons for doing so:

  •          A large proportion of people with their own gardens save time on weeding by using garden products
  •          Most did gardening work themselves, without employing anyone else to do it
  •          The garden has become hugely important as an extra space that’s  perfect for relaxing in and for entertaining friends and family
  •          Younger gardeners in their twenties think that spending time weeding gardens and caring for beds and borders is excessively time-consuming
  •         Garden care products are safe to use because they are subject to so many regulations, and are used widely and responsibly

Phillpotts added: “We’re keen to educate consumers about using and disposing of garden care products responsibly. Invasive weeds can be a problem in any garden, so controlling them with the right garden care products is quick, convenient and practical.”

The Common Sense Gardening Group works together to ensure the safety of garden care products and assist consumers with any of their gardening issues. It provides people with tips on the safe usage, storage and disposal of the garden products they use on a day-to-day basis.

The Common Sense Gardening Group belongs to the Crop Protection Association and is a key member of Britain’s plant science industry. The group aims to help a broad audience to fight problems in their garden as safely as possible.

It comprises of five member companies, all producing and selling garden care products.
