Mindful Life Journeys partner with Achievement for All’s 100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge for March

Mindful Life Journeys has teamed up with national schools charity Achievement For All to offer primary school aged children a free feature mindful meditation, in support of their 100 Million Minutes Reading campaign with the aim to help children visualise how words and pictures can come alive to open up new opportunities, stimulate imagination and learning, regardless of ability.

Achievement For All is holding a one-month collective 100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge which began on World Book Day (March 1st) following the success of last year's 10 Million Minutes; schools, colleges, parents, carers, childminders, and many more helped to read a total of 15 million minutes.

The Mindful Meditation, accompanied by resources for schools is available for free on the 100millionminutes.org website and is already in regular use by some schools.

Mindful Life Journeys’ wider programme of children’s meditations for primary schools seeks to increase resilience while teaching children ways to regulate emotion and promote mental states conducive to learning.

Co-founder of Mindful Life Journeys, Julie Pearson, said: "Almost two in five children from disadvantaged communities in the UK struggle with literacy and we seek to change that.”

"We know that introducing and motivating children to read can brighten the prospects of many young people, whatever their ability or social background. We want to foster learning and encourage a growth mindset in a fun and engaging way."

Mindful Meditation can help children learn that it's possible to self-regulate their emotions and not be limited by emotional, hormonal, social, and environmental factors. This mindful meditation is straightforward and effective, only needing a calm and quiet environment for children to sit or lay while listening to the meditation.  Meditations within the wider program come with comprehensive session plans, training videos, animated presentations and hints and tips, which give structure, learning objectives and clear outcomes to the sessions.

These Mindful Meditation sessions were designed in partnership with Achievement For All and seek to combat a rising lack of resilience in primary school children, by equipping them with a lasting mindset focused on learning and growing.

Mindful Life Journeys provide bespoke online meditation content for Adults, Children and people in their later years, aimed at enabling anyone to practice mindful meditation to help relax and empower individuals.
