Owners put popular Merseyside restaurant on market with £288,000 price tag

A popular Merseyside restaurant has been put on the market by its owners, who wish to retire. The Ko family have instructed Blacks Business Brokers to find a new owner for Ju Fu, on Dover Road in Maghull, with a guide price of £288,000.

Ju Fu has been owned and operated by the Ko family since 2001 and has a superb reputation locally, with a loyal clientele and excellent online reviews. It is being offered for sale on a freehold basis, which includes both the 65-seater restaurant and a three double-bedroom apartment.

The business, which turned over £149,000 in its most recent financial year, currently employs six part-time staff, in addition to Mr and Mrs Ko, who work there full-time. Ju Fu is located close to Aintree Racecourse and the town's Asda superstore, in the affluent Liverpool suburb of Maghull on the Merseyside/Lancashire border.

Anthony Meadowcroft, new business department manager at Blacks Business Brokers, said, "Over the last two decades Ju Fu has become an important part of the local community, so it's a great honour to have been asked to find a new owner to pick up the baton.

"The business is fully equipped, and even comes with a walk-in freezer and a bespoke cooker made specially for the kitchen, but it also offers great scope for expansion. A new owner could, for example, introduce a website and start offering takeaway deliveries and outside catering.

"It's in a great location and enjoys fantastic goodwill locally so it will provide a real opportunity for somebody to hit the ground running and also to build revenues significantly in future."
