Voter Registration Free Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
 Prize – x2 winner with £50 Love2Shop gift card

 

1.    By entering the prize draw you are agreeing to these prize draw terms and conditions.

2.    The prize draw is being run by the County Council of the City and County of Cardiff (‘Cardiff Council’), Electoral Services, County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff, CF10 4UW

 

 

Eligibility to enter

3.    Entrants must be resident in Cardiff, and able to provide proof of address.

4.    The prize draw will only include those who post a comment with the correct answer to the question posted on our Facebook or Instagram Post, ‘Name three things that can be affected by registering to vote?’, and like the same post on Facebook or Instagram from Tuesday 1 November 2022 to Tuesday 22 November 2022.

5.    Entrants must be eligible to register to vote and therefore must be over the age of 14 years old.

6.    Entrants (under 18 years of age) must have the consent of a parent or guardian over 18 to enter the competition. The Electoral Services department reserves the right to obtain proof of such consent and to refuse entry or to choose another winner if such proof, where requested, has not been given.

7.    In entering the prize draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win.

8.    A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted.

9.    The prize draw is free to enter.

 

How to enter

10.                  To enter, entrants will need to post a comment with the correct answer to the question posted on our Facebook or Instagram Post, ‘Name three things that can be affected by registering to vote?’, and like the same post on Facebook or Instagram from Tuesday 1 November 2022 to Tuesday 22 November 2022.

11.                  The closing date of entry is 22 November 2022. Entries after that time and date will not be included in this prize draw.

12.                  The City of Cardiff Council will not accept responsibility if contact details provided are incomplete or inaccurate.

13.                  The prizes will be

·      Prize 1: x1 winner with £50 Love2Shop gift card

·      Prize 2: x1 winner with £50 Love2Shop gift card

 

14.Cardiff Council use of particular brands as prizes does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of such brands.

15.The winner will be drawn at random from those who enter the prize draw and are eligible to enter.

ThThe prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be offered.

17.We reserve the right to substitute prizes with another prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.

18.The decision of Cardiff Council regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

Winner announcement

 

19.Winners will be selected by a random using a computer process that produces verifiably random results. 

20.The winner will be notified after 1 December 2022 via a direct message on Instagram or Facebook.

21.Cardiff Council will attempt to contact the winner via direct message on Instagram or Facebook so they may supply their name, address and email address, up to two times

22.If the winner does not respond to the messages notifying them of their win within 14 days of the second message, they will lose their right to the prize, and the City of Cardiff Council reserves the right to choose and notify a new winner.

23.Arrangements will be made between Electoral Services Department and the winner (and where appropriate the winner’s parent or guardian if they are under the age of 18 years old) on a suitable time and place the winner can receive the prize.

24.Electoral Services reserve the right to photograph the presentation. Any photographs taken can be used by Cardiff Council (i) to publicise the event and (ii) used at future dates and times to help encourage voter registration

Receipt of the prize

25.Please allow 14 days for delivery of the prize or alternative collection or delivery arrangements may be made through mutual agreement.

 

Data protection and publicity

26.You consent to any personal information you provide in entering the prize draw being used by Electoral Services for the purposes of administering the prize draw, and for those purposes as defined within your application and our privacy notice.

27.All entrants may apply for details of the winning participant by contacting us at electoralservices@cardiff.gov.uk.

28.The winner agrees to the release of their first name to any other prize draw participants if requested via the City of Cardiff Council.  

29.An announcement of the winners first name will be made via social media.

30.If you wish to object to disclosure or publication of your details (as referred to in clauses 28 and 29 above) please email electoralservices@cardiff.gov.uk.  Any objection will have no effect on the draw or your chances of winning.

31.All personal information shall be used in accordance with Cardiff Council’s Privacy Notice and the Electoral Services Privacy Notice These can be found on the Cardiff Council Website.

Limitation of Liability

32 Cardiff Council does not accept any liability for any damage, loss, costs, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of either participating in the prize draw or being selected for a prize, save that the City of Cardiff does not exclude its liability for death or personal injury as a result of its own negligence.

33.The City of Cardiff Council does not provide any form of practical or IT support for this prize competition. On receipt, all responsibilities relating to warranty and the product are that of the prize winner.

General

34.                  Cardiff Council reserves the right to cancel the prize draw or amend these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice.

35.                  The prize draw and these terms and conditions will be governed by English and Welsh law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
