Commonwealth success for Cardiff's Owain

Cardiff Youth Service would like to welcome home Owain Harris Allan after he represented Wales at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and successfully reached the semi-finals in Bantamweight.

Owain from Llanedeyrn regularly accesses the Powerhouse Youth Club and took up boxing at young age when mum, suggested he needed to burn off some energy.

The former St Telio's CIW High School pupil has gone on to achieve six-time Welsh Champion status, three-time British Silver Medallist, Bronze Medallist Belgrade Boxing and Silver Medallist Grand Prix Tournament.

He joined Welsh Boxing full-time just five months ago, after some very impressive performances on the development programme.

We would like to extend our congratulations to Owain and look forward to seeing what the future holds for the talented youngster.
