Welcome to the last update of the week from Cardiff Council, covering: vaccination totals for Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan; Cardiff's COVID-19 case and test numbers and temporary restrictions on items that can be brought to Lamby Way Recycling Centre.
Cardiff & Vale University Health Board Vaccination Status Update - 7 May
The total number of vaccination doses given by the Cardiff & Vale University Health Board so far, in both local authority areas:408,877(1stDose: 297,160 2ndDose: 111,700)
- 80 and over: 21,105 / 94.1% (1stDose) 19,287 / 86% (2ndDose)
- 75-79: 15,090 / 95.7% (1stDose) 13,646 / 86.6% (2ndDose)

Lamby Way Recycling Centre Improvement Works
From Monday 10th May, Lamby Way Recycling Centre is undergoing improvement works on site, therefore there will be reduced skip and container availability.
Due to the improvement works, we will be unable to accept the following items at Lamby Way:
❌Household/car batteries
❌Computer monitors/TVs
❌Engine oil
❌Fluorescent tubes
❌Fridges/Freezers and large electrical items e.g. dishwashers
❌Household chemicals
❌Mixed media (books, cds etc)
❌Paint
❌Plasterboard
❌Rubble
❌Textiles
❌Tetra Pak
❌Vegetable oil
✔️ We aim to re-open these services at the end of May.
If you have any of these items above, please make a booking for Bessemer Close Recycling Centre instead.
If you have already made a booking for these items at Lamby Way you can cancel, and make a new appointment for Bessemer Close on the Cardiff Gov App or websitewww.cardiff.gov.uk/recyclingcentres.
