10 facts from our Annual Statutory Wellbeing Report
Every year we publish a statutory well-being report.
It's full of facts and figures about the services we provide -here are 10 of them, to give you an idea of what you will find inside.
- For the second year in a row Cardiff has come top of an all-Wales survey asking people whether their local authority provides high quality services - 58% said we did.
- In 2019/20 our Community Resource Team provided almost 58,000 hours of support before, during and after discharges from hospital, helping with the right balance of care and independence.
- We delivered 800 dementia friendly events during 2019/20 and our Day Opportunities Team helped approximately 200 lonely or socially-isolated people re-connect with their community.
- In 2019/20 Cardiff was recognised as a Living Wage City. There are now 108 Living Wage employers in the city, paying 35,538 people the real Living Wage - that's 5,295 more people being paid a living wage in Cardiff this year.
- In 2019/20 we created 152 apprenticeships and traineeships, our employment support services supported 1,050 people into employment, and we assisted 3,348 people with the roll out of Universal Credit.
- In 2020, the number of young people enrolled in Welsh Language Education increased by 244.
- With our help 1,795 people in Cardiff were successfully prevented from becoming homeless last year, and 200 multi-agency interventions took place, supporting rough sleepers into accommodation.
- A massive 98% of customers have said they are satisfied with the services provided in our Community Hubs.
- Last year 99.03% of reported incidents of fly tipping in Cardiff were cleared within 5 working days and 80.35% of incidents led to further enforcement activity.
- From parking permit applications to self-service Council Tax - more than 1.25 million contacts came via our digital channels last year and the ‘Cardiff Gov' app has been downloaded nearly 25,000 times.
