Garden waste collection areas this coming Saturday
The areas of Cardiff that have their waste collected on a Friday will have a garden waste collection this coming Saturday, 30thMay.
Residents are reminded that they must only put out garden waste for collection in their green wheelie bin or their reusable garden sacks.
Any additional garden waste, which is put in any other container, including plastic bags, will not be collected.

Free Llanover Hall Zoom family taster sessions
Llanover Hall have free online family taster sessions on Zoom. Learn a new lockdown hobby with Fun Family Origami, Wed May 27 and Create Amazing Geometrical Designs, Wed June 10.
Children must attend with an adult present.

Hub staff supporting our communities
Throughout the past nine weeks, staff at the four core hubs that have remained open by appointment or for emergencies have been working hard at the frontline of Cardiff's communities to answer customers enquires and help those in need.
The outstanding service they have continued to deliver despite the COVID-19 crisis includes providing:
- Food and essentials parcels
- Green recycling and food waste bags
- E-resources on Facebook (more below)
- Answering calls received by the Adviceline
- Calling everyone who is shielded to ensure they have food and support they need
The teams have put together lock down activities including rhymetimes and Hands on History resources to give people a taster of the wealth of local history and heritage e-resources that are available and ‘how to' guides to help users get the best out of the online catalogue.

We've had more than 11,500 calls to our Adviceline since the start of the COVID-19 crisis from customers needing help accessing food and essential items, with benefits and income, help with debts and Into Work and Universal Credit advice.

Food Parcels
One particular impact of the COVID-19 crisis is the increasing demand for basic food supplies, particularly to support our most vulnerable people, either those self-isolating or those suffering from the economic impact of the crisis.
Since the 20thof March 485 food parcels have been collected from our Hubs. This is a fantastic achievement and is a vital service for those who need them.
Cardiff Asbestos Team switch roles to deliver PPE supplies
In response to the coronavirus crisis, the Cardiff Asbestos Team have been redeployed to help Cardiff's Health & Safety Team and the Hubs & Libraries Services to deliver vital PPE supplies.
The team have been collecting sanitisers, Covid-19 suitable cleaning supplies and PPE from suppliers such as Screentec, PK Safety, Adcock Janitorial and Catering Supplies and BCB International.
Cardiff's Health & Safety team and Hubs & Libraries Services work hard every week sourcing necessary supplies for the people who need it to continue providing vital Council services. Once orders have been prepared the Cardiff Asbestos Team then deliver essential equipment and PPE to care homes, providers of domiciliary support and our hub schools.
Andrew Griffin, Chris Bolton and Paula Griffin usually carry out asbestos surveys of Council premises, manage asbestos information and provide asbestos advice and support to building managers. The team have been collecting sanitisers, Covid-19 suitable cleaning supplies and PPE from suppliers and delivering them. They are happy to adjust their roles and help keep Cardiff safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.
