Jobs galore at Cardiff Job Fair 2019


Leading employers from the retail, hospitality, care, service sectors and more will have hundreds of job opportunities on offer at Cardiff Job Fair 2019 next week.


The Council's Into Work Advice Service team, in partnership with Job Centre Plus are holding the event at St David's Hall on Wednesday, September 18 (10am - 2pm).


More than forty employers will be providing information and advice on job vacancies available across the city.  Support will also be on hand for those who are looking to have a change in their career as well as those who are out of work and looking for a job.


The Council's Into Work Advice Service will be also be providing employment advice, while over 20 partner organisations will offer training opportunities.


The team have a number of projects that provide one to one bespoke mentoring support to individuals living in Cardiff aged 16 or over. Project support includes help with childcare, help to pay for training, help with travel costs and tailored employment advice to support people to get that job.


Cardiff Works, the Council's own temporary recruitment team, will also be at the Job Fair offering temporary placements within Cardiff Council across a range of service areas. The Council's Fostering team will also be on hand to advise on all matters relating to fostering children.


Cabinet Member for Finance, Performance and Modernisation, Councillor Chris Weaver, said: "Cardiff Job Fair is an excellent event that provides hundreds of people with the employment advice and support they need. It doesn't matter whether you're looking for your first job, want to take the next step in your career or are keen to find out about available training opportunities, we have the expertise to help.
