Cardiff Hubs and Libraries service is marking Safer Internet Day by teaming up with Google to offer advice and coaching on digital skills to keep people safer online.

Google is bringing its Google Digital Garage to Central Library Hub on Tuesday February 5 to deliver two drop-in sessions focussing on how individuals and families can be confident in using the internet safely.

TheGoogle Digital Garageisone of Google's flagship investment programmes in the UK, where anyone can come and learn free digital skills through a range of courses or 1:1 sessions. Since launching the Google Digital Garage in 2015, over 300,000 people havebenefitted from Google's free face-to-face training on digital know-howacross 250 locations in the UKincluding regular events at Central Library Hub.

Visitors can stay as little as long as they like for the two sessions at 10am and 11am in the fifth floor Creative Suite in the library hub.

Cabinet Member for  Housing and Communities, Cllr Lynda Thorne, said: "The Google Digital Garage visiting Central Library Hub is a great opportunity for residents to gain new skills and knowledge to keep themselves and their families safe online. In this digital age, it's essential that people are aware of the pitfalls surrounding safety online and are confident and comfortable when using the internet."
