Christmas Memorial Service
An ecumenical Christmas Memorial Service will be held at the Wenallt Chapel at Thornhill Crematorium at 2pm on Sunday 10th December 2017. All are welcome to attend and pay their respects to their loved ones during this Christmas period.

Cabinet Member with responsibility for Bereavement Services, Cllr Michael Michael, said:  “Losing a loved one is always incredibly difficult but this time of year can be particularly challenging.  This service offers people of all faiths the opportunity to come together and remember those who have sadly passed.”

The service, conducted by Rev. Lionel Fanthorpe will contain a number of readings, poems and carols, with the singing led by Deborah Morgan Lewis.  The service begins at 2pm and will conclude at approximately 3pm. A collection in aid of Tŷ Hafan will take place during the service.

Tŷ Hafan, is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities.  They offer comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families in the charity’s hospice, in the community and in their homes.

Bereavement Services will again be selling memorial tags for a minimum donation of £2.00. These can be placed on one of the Christmas Memorial Trees in the Wenallt Chapel Courtyard. The trees will be in place from 5th December 2017 and will remain in situ until 6th January 2018 when they will be removed in keeping with ‘Twelfth Night’ tradition. All donations received will be in support of Tŷ Hafan.
