Work on Culverhouse Cross roundabout will start this Sunday (October 22nd)

Culverhouse Cross roundabout and the A48 to Tumble Hill will be resurfaced in two phases during the next month.

In total, 6,400m2of road will be resurfaced and this scheme is a joint partnership between Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

The first phase involves the resurfacing of the roundabout. As this is a major junction into Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, the work will only take place in the evenings and will not take place on a Friday or Saturday to minimise the impact to motorists during peak travel times.

From this Sunday (October 22nd) until Thursday October 26ththe work will take place in the evenings between 8.00pm until 6.00am.

During these times, the junction will be controlled with lane restrictions and road closures will be in place but diversions will be clearly sign posted.

The work will then continue from Sunday October 29ththrough to Thursday November 2nd.

Once the work on the roundabout has been completed, the second phase will begin along the A48 from the roundabout to Tumble Hill.

This work is scheduled to take a further two weeks. Again, these scheduled works will only take place between 8.00pm and 6.00am and will not take place on a Friday or a Saturday.

The Council is committed to using the resources available to improve Cardiff's roads. When improvements are made, disruption to motorists is inevitable but we would like to thank everyone for their patience while this work is carried out.
