UK’s largest van hypermarket expands team

The UK’s largest van hypermarket, Anchor Vans, has expanded its team.

Welcoming a new junior marketing assistant, the team is looking forward to a profitable and productive 2018 with the new addition.

Chris Ferris is joining the Anchor Vans team as a junior marketing assistant.

Ferris studied digital film production at university and as well as being an IT whizz, he is experienced in social media, web content creation, branding and communications and brings a fresh creative element to the team.

Ferris’ key roles include the advertising stock and products on digital marketing platforms and to increase turnover and profitability through creating engaging digital marketing and advertising campaigns to our demographics.

Ferris has a keen interest in digital platforms and has worked as an esports observer, specifically in Microsoft titles such as Minecraft, most recently at MineCon Earth 2017 in London in a freelance capacity.

Managing director, Simon Joyce said: “We at Anchor Vans are very excited to be further expanding the team.

“Chris will be a valued member of staff and will be a great asset to the day to day and future growth of the company.

“This expansion comes at an exciting time of growth for our company.”

News of the expanding team came as Anchor Vans recently announced that it would be doubling in size, with a new 2.5 acre site near its current base in Reading.

The business is looking to dramatically reduce its carbon footprint by moving its valeting services to a new permanent home on a regenerated landfill site at Padworth.

Expansion has been part of Anchor Vans’ vision for a decade.

Its original site at Tadley – still owned and used today – was just the beginning for the family business. When plans go ahead, increased business operations are also set to create more jobs in the locality.

Established for almost three decades, Anchor Vans delivers various types of new and used vehicles all over the UK, buying in excess of 60 vans a week. The new site would also mean that its vehicle suppliers could unload away from the busy A4.
