It’s official! Joshua Goldsworthy of Goldsworthy’s, Swindon is the most exciting young male in hairdressing, having been named THE IT GUY in prestigious hair competition, The It List, which celebrates industry stars on the ascent.

Joshua was presented with his trophy in front of an A-List crowd of hair, fashion and media VIPs on Monday 5 September 2016 at the It List Grand Final, which was hosted by comedian Rob Beckett at London’s historic Guildhall. Session stylist Johnnie Sapong and celebrity hairdresserJames Brown were among the 600-strong audience, alongside leading talent agencies, top-notch journalists and more than a few celebrities.

Launched in 2009, The It List – presented by influential industry magazine Creative HEAD in an exclusive sponsorship with hairdressing coolbrand ghdcelebrates the hottest new emerging talent in UK hairdressing: go-getters, trendsetters, ground-breakers and game-changers aged 30 or under. Six titles – The Rising Star; The Fashionista; The Visionary; The Entrepreneur; The It Girl; and The It Guy – recognise the young professionals bringing fresh thinking and new ideas to the industry.

Panels of exciting and influential hair, fashion and media experts judge The It List, including celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford, Little Mix stylist Aaron Carlo, make-up artist Maria Comparetto and the managing director of the legendary Streeters agency, Beverley Streeter.

Joshua fought off fierce nationwide competition to be named THE IT GUY, an award given to a male stylist excelling in all areas of hairdressing and destined for greatness. Joshua’s versatility impressed the judges – he sees himself as “an artist, an educator, a performer, a mentor, a designer, a team member and a businessman”; one day can find him making the TOWIE cast glamorous, the next he’ll be working with session god Anthony Turner backstage.

Joshua’s prize includes an It List trophy, a place on an exclusive trends workshop, courtesy of ghd, plus priceless print and online editorial coverage in Creative HEAD magazine.

Catherine Handcock, Publisher of Creative HEAD says: “Young, gifted and full of bright ideas, Joshua should be extremely proud of his well-deserved trophy. The It List celebrates the new wave of talent that keeps this brilliant industry moving forward, and we can’t help but feel we’ll be hearing lots more from our winners in the future.”

Said Joshua:“I’ve been in the hairdressing industry for 10 years and I’ve entered so many times so to hear my name announced as the winner is surreal but amazing.”
