CHOC Chick’s Galia Orme to speak at Brighton Summit 2015
Galia Orme, founder of CHOC Chick, has agreed to speak at the Brighton Summit 2015: A day for your growing business, on Friday 16 October at The Clarendon Centre, Brighton.
Galia will present her business development techniques to an audience of more than 250 businesses, social enterprises and charities. She will share with delegates many of her experiences as she built her business and developed CHOC Chick’s international links. Galia’s journeys have seen her visit cooperatives and farmers in Ecuador and get her products stocked across the UK, Europe and the US.
CHOC Chick provides ethically sourced raw chocolate making kits, recipes and organic ingredients. They enable chocolate lovers to create and enjoy chocolate that is free from dairy, gluten, processed sugar, additives and, most importantly, guilt.
Galia has achieved great success with CHOC Chick. Initially set up as an online store in 2009, the company was supplying John Lewis food halls by 2010. That year also saw CHOC Chick products being sold by four distributors to over 200 stores across the UK and Europe. These included Whole Foods Market UK, Harvey Nichols, Infinity Foods and Magasin Du Nord in Copenhagen. This year, they reached 200 Holland & Barrett stores and have been the company’s online bestseller since March.
In 2014, Galia introduced CHOC Chick to the east coast of the US. Following a recommendation to Whole Foods Market North Atlantic, she secured US representation, getting CHOC Chick products into 30 stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine.
Galia now plans to establish CHOC Chick as an international brand with distribution across Europe, the US, China, Australia and New Zealand.
Looking forward to the event, Galia said: “I’m really excited about speaking to fellow business people. The Brighton Summit is a great event for local people serious about building their businesses. I’m going to look at some of challenges small businesses face, how we can overcome them and how to build sustainable success.”
The Brighton Summit 2015: A day for your growing business will attract multinational and small businesses, start-ups, social enterprises and charities. With compelling speakers, practical workshops and unusual challenges, the event will help attendees plan for the future growth of their business.
