Louise Gardo and Sian Kalynka of local legal
firm francis george solicitor-advocate took part in the annual Victory Swim
challenge at Cotswold Water Park. The event took place on Thursday 6 September
and was sponsored by local Swindon firms, including redheadPR, Innovation IT
Services and Visually Explained.
The £200 raised by the team went towards the
Felix Fund who support bomb disposal experts working within the UK. Swimmers
were challenged to swim 400m, 700m, 1500m or more in the lake.
Francis George, Senior Partner at francis george
solicitor-advocate, said: "I am extremely proud of Louise and Sian for
taking part and supporting such a fantastic cause, as well as for their own
physical achievements. As a firm, we look forward to being involved in other
activities such as this in the future."
It is imperative that initiatives such as this
are supported by the local community in order to continue fundraising and to
foster community spirit. The participants' achievements are multifaceted and
serve far more importance than simply generating money for these worthwhile
charities. This year, Louise and Sian represented francis george solicitor-advocate.
After flourishing in her maths and further maths
A-Levels, Louise joined the team as an apprentice in the accounts department.
She is currently studying for her AAT Level 2 exams and is a voluntary swim
coach.
After graduating with honours in law from the
University of Plymouth in 2006, Sian continued her studies to finish her Legal
Practice Course in 2008. She joined Wiltshire Police as the Licensing Officer
for Swindon in 2009 and worked within their team for almost 10 years before
joining the practice earlier this year as a paralegal in the family department.
