Cyclefit Manchester, the high-end cycle company that pioneered bike fitting in Europe, is officially opening its new store in the city’s Northern Quarter, with a special event featuring former Trek Factory Racing star, Jens Voigt. It will take place on Monday 28 September 2015. 

Between 12.00 midday and 3.00 pm, Cyclefit is inviting everybody to come for coffee and cake and an informal meet-and-greet with Jens. Later, at the official launch party, Cyclefit co-founders Phil Cavell and Julian Wall, who worked with Jens during his time with UCI ProTeam Trek Factory Racing, will interview him about his cycling career.
 

A two-time wearer of the Tour de France yellow jersey, Jens also won the Critérium International a record-equalling five times as well as many one-week stage races. Jens is popular among cycling fans, both for his aggressive riding style and his sense of fun.
 

Drinks and snacks on the day will be supplied by Cyclefit’s friends and neighbours, Ezra and Gil, who use quality ingredients, flavours and textures.
 

Cyclefit’s new 3,500 sq/ft store is in a Grade II Listed yarn mill. It comprises two state-of-the-art bike fitting studios, consultation rooms and a fully equipped workshop. The retail area exclusively offers full-custom bikes from Parlee, Seven and Passoni and stock bikes from Trek, Cervelo and BMC.
 

Speaking about the opening, Phil said: “We’re delighted that Jens Voigt is joining us for the official opening of our Manchester store. Having worked with him for three years during his time at Trek Factory Racing, I know he will be very entertaining, he always is! Jens will offer many of his tips and tricks that helped his sustain his successful career to people who visit the shop during the day on the 28th.”
 

Cyclefit’s Manchester store has been open for a short period. In August, it hosted Chris Garrison of Trek Factory Racing, who presented her talk, Everything you wanted to know as a female cyclist but were too afraid to ask, to a crowded room. Chris is a pro-team mechanic and supports Trek Factory Racing’s marketing department.
 

Phil and Julian work alternately at the store along with their team of expert technicians and physios.
