Etape Suisse gears up for Grindelwald with Cadel Evans

Etape Suisse, the organiser and promoter of luxury cycling sportives in Switzerland, has confirmed that Cadel Evans, winner of the 2011 Tour de France, is joining its three-day festival of cycling and fine dining in the Eiger village of Grindelwald. The event is taking place from 10 – 13 September 2015.

Guests at Etape Suisse’s Grindelwald sportive will have the opportunity to ride alongside Cadel, picking up tips and tricks from one of the most successful riders of his generation. Cadel is a four time Olympian and the first Australian to win the UCI ProTour (2007) and the UCI Road World Championships (2009). He won the Tour de France in 2011 with the BMC Racing Team.

Just two hours from Zurich, Grindelwald is surrounded by stunning scenery. Riders taking part in the Etape Suisse Grindelwald 2015 blue riband event will stay at the luxurious Chalet Rotstocki. Following a Champagne reception, they’ll be fitted for a BMC carbon bike or a power assisted Stromer e-bike.

Over the following days, they’ll enjoy guided rides around Grindelwald, a choice of cycling challenges, fine dining experiences and full mechanical support.

Looking ahead to Grindelwald 2015, Sara Tye, CEO of Etape Suisse, said: “With super-smooth road surfaces, this three-day event provides the perfect break for anyone who enjoys cycling. The accommodation and food will be second to none and the networking opportunities at the highest level. We’re delighted to welcome Cadel as we explore the exquisite scenery around Grindelwald.”

Etape Suisse was established in 2013 as a response to growing mediocrity in the UK sportive scene. The company spotted a niche for luxury cycling events in which riders of all levels and their friends and families can enjoy challenging rides in inspiring surroundings.

Prices for the Etape Suisse Grindelwald 2015 blue riband event start from £1,600.
