Staff from Mortgage
Advice Bureau Swindon are gearing up to take centre stage in a pre-Christmas,
family-friendly production of The Addams Family Musical at the town’s Arts
Theatre from 28 November to 1 December.
The director of the show is Adam Holman, mortgage assistant at the company.
Meanwhile, Katie Tilling, a mortgage assistant and protection adviser at the
organisation by day, transforms into Morticia Addams for 29 November while
taking on the role of Bride for all other performances in the run.
The pair are part of Swindon amateur dramatics group the Chocolate Theatre
Company, responsible for putting on a couple of high-quality musical productions
at the Arts Centre each year.
Kate joined the theatre group in 2017, and also serves as voice coach for
Chocolate Theatre Buttons, the youth production initiative which is part of the
Chocolate company.
The Addams Family Musical is based on the popular, comedic Addams Family
characters from TV and films, originally created by cartoonist Charles Addams.
The ghoulish all-American family has a distinct affinity for all things
macabre.
In this show, their somewhat twisted daughter, Wednesday Addams, has turned 18
and fallen for sweet youth Lucas Beineke, from a ‘normal’ and respectable Ohio
family. She invites Lucas’s family to hers for dinner, as secrets are revealed,
relationships put to the test and the Addamses must face up to the only thing
they’ve resisted for generations: change.
Jeremy Morcumb of Mortgage Advice Bureau Swindon said: “I’m so proud of my team
for showing there’s far more to life than just showing up for work every day.
It’s so important to us to support local organisations and the arts.”
