Brand new foodie festival on way for Hastings and St Leonards

Eat Global is on its way and bringing with it an amazing array of culinary experiences and flavours from around the world.

The festival launches in Hastings and St Leonards on March 24 at Priory Meadow, and offers a week's worth of eating, entertainment and celebration of all things foodie.

Organised by a delegation of new, small businesses, Hastings Borough Council and company 18 Hours Ltd, the festival is based in and around the huge array of diverse restaurants and cafes in the town. Many of the chefs will come out from the kitchen to share their cooking secrets and restaurants will offer up their signature dishes for tasting throughout the week.

Councillor Jay Kramer, deputy leader of Hastings Borough Council, said:

We've got talks from household names such as Levi Roots of Reggae, Reggae Sauce fame and home-grown talent Jo Fairley, co-founder of Green and Blacks.

"There are, of course, plenty of opportunities to sample food from some fabulous restaurants but also entertainment for all the family, including children's tea parties and talks on food, culture and identity.

"This is a first for us but like so many of our very successful events, I'm sure it will only continue to grow in popularity and offering as it establishes itself as a regular in our calendar of events."
