One of the UK's leading materials handling specialists is throwing its weight behind a new event dedicated to meeting the needs of the North East's thriving automotive industry.

Briggs Equipment is exhibiting atthe inaugural North East Automotive Expo, which aims toput the spotlight on future opportunities and challenges for the sector's supply chain.

Around 300 delegates are expected to attend the event, which takes place at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on September 24. It is being organised by the North East Automotive Alliance(NEAA),a membership-based cluster group that promotes the sustainable economic growth of the region's automotive industry, with sponsorship fromSunderland City Council.

North East Automotive Expois aimed at companies already working in the automotive industry and those looking to diversify into or set up in the sector. Along with test drives, live demonstrations and equipment displays, there will be opportunities tonetwork and engage with major suppliers. Supply chain companies willpromote knowledge sharing and best practice in a series oftechnical workshops.

Key decision makers arealso invited to take part in‘meet the buyer' sessions with some of the region's major automotive companies, includingNissan Motor Manufacturing UK, Jaguar Land Rover, Nifco UK, Faltec Europe and Lear Corporation UK.

Briggs Equipment will have a major presence at the North East Automotive Expo, with a display of Yale forklift trucks. It is the only exhibitor to take space outside, next to the entrance, as well as a large trade stand in the exhibition hall.
