Sam Spearheads New Thorite Sales and Service Strategy 

Thorite, the UK's biggest independent distributor of pneumatic products and process systems, has appointed Sam Butcher (23) to the position of Key Accounts Manager, working out of the company's Doncaster Sales and Service Centre. 

This appointment marks the first step in a major new strategy for Thorite, which is now dedicated to recruiting sales personnel with the highest levels of production engineering expertise. 

Sam studied for 3 years at the University of Hull, gaining a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, before spending a further year gaining a Masters Degree in this subject. 

Speaking of the thinking behind Sam's appointment Alan Donkersley, Thorite's Sales Director said:

"As our customers become more sophisticated in their production and processing abilities and invest in highly technical systems, the profile of our sales people has got to keep pace with these increased competences.We have spent considerable time and resources developing a strategy with the goal of becoming the First Visit Solution Provider. Obviously this requires our personnel to have outstanding engineering knowledge, not just of our massive range of specialist pneumatic, hydraulic and vacuum product ranges, but crucially of how they can best be combined and deployed to solve problems, speed production and cut energy bills. I'm confident that Sam's appointment will play an important part in enabling us to achieve these ends and I'm sure he will make a significant contribution in advising and assisting our customers in the Doncaster, Rotherham and Wakefield areas." Sam is single, lives in Hull and his leisure interests include playing the piano, as well as playing and watching sports.
