Free family fun on Fridays

The long school summer holidays are here again, and so too are series of popular free family fun days organised by Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) and its community partners.
Last year the Fun Friday events attracted scores of people, young and old, from communities across Stafford and surrounding areas, and this summer even more attractions have been lined up as part of the social landlord's ‘Fit for the Future' campaign.
The holiday entertainment kicks off on Friday, July 31 on the playing fields at Barnes Road, Highfields. This will be followed by further Fun Friday events on August 7 in Woodlands Road, North End; August 14 in Heenan Grove, Moss Pit; and on August 21 in Wedgwood Lane, Barlaston.
Whilst youngsters are kept entertained with face painting, balloon modelling and soccer skills sessions, grown-ups can also find out more about a wide range of topical issues, including health and wellbeing and welfare reforms.
There'll also be the opportunity to pick up plenty of advice on money matters and getting to grips with the internet.
at SARH, explained: "The Fun Friday events are extremely popular as they really do help to bring communities together.
"Open to everyone, not just SARH customers, they also provide an environment where people can share their thoughts and opinions about the community they live in whilst hearing the latest news from our Neighbourhood Services Team."
The events get underway at 1.00pm and finish at 4.00pm, and offer something for all ages.
Karen Armitage, SARH Chief Executive, added: "The Fit for the Future programme aims to help people meet the day-to-day challenges they face and at the same time make the areas we serve better places to live, work and play.
"These events also demonstrate our commitment to being much more than just a landlord. By working with our community partners we are dedicated to building stronger communities by helping people gain the skills and knowledge they need to flourish and improve their own lives."
