Global Digital Technology
company expands in ‘high potential’ UK market
Following huge interest in Digital Technology services, a
global technology solutions provider in Digital has significantly expanded its
presence in the UK, and is eyeing the nation as the biggest potential market
for digital technology outsourcing.
Verbat Technologies, which already has a presence in
international markets including the USA, United Arab Emirates and India, has
expanded its UK team after appointing ex-Avis IT Director, Rob Pearlman, as its
new Head of Application Services. The move is a direct response to the demand
Verbat is receiving for digital technology outsourcing in the UK and part of a
longer term growth plan which will also see the company form a number of key
partnerships in the digital technology space.

Jijo Olassa, CEO of Verbat Technologies, commented: “Speaking to businesses in the UK, we are finding that there is no doubt in their minds as to the value of outsourcing, but this is often coupled with a deep sense of nervousness on where to start and how to succeed in Digital. By bringing Rob into our UK operation, we can draw on his experience from a client point-of-view and a vendor point-of-view to help manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels and deliver successful services for digital initiatives in a country that is really embracing outsourcing.”
Verbat’s view that the UK is
poised to lead the world on the adoption of outsourcing is supported by the
latest ISG Momentum Market Trends report, which also ranks the UK as the number
one country in the outsourcing viability index for digital technologies. And,
according to Gartner, the worldwide IT services market will exceed $980 billion
this year, with the outsourcing industry contributing to more than half of that
market growth.
According to Jijo Olassa, the
demand the company is experiencing is not for the traditional waterfall model
of application services, but because Verbat Technologies has introduced to the
market a more hybrid Agile option, which provides the benefits and agility of
an offshore solution but with the control and cost effectiveness of an in-house
option.
Jijo Olassa explained: “The
traditional model for IT outsourcing is a waterfall model that first identifies
and maps your business requirements and then matches this to a single solution.
However, what most businesses find is that, as their company grows, so too do
their requirements so they need access to a more agile solution that can
continue to be grown and developed on an ongoing basis. That’s what we are
providing to businesses globally; helping companies to realise that the high
cost and time requirements of traditional offshoring is not the only option.”
Verbat Technologies was formed
by the coming together of senior IT professionals across the globe with the aim
to create a scalable entity with different product spin offs. The company has
15 years’ experience in delivering Internet and Mobile Solutions to
enterprises, through agile development and application management
methodologies. Having just been appointed by Carrefour to deliver its digital
technology services, and already working with brands such as ABB, Williams BMW,
Emaar and Intel, Verbat is an exciting place for Rob Pearlman to be joining.
Rob Pearlman added: “I'm
excited to join a successful, fast emerging digital technology company like
Verbat Technologies that is trying to redefine the quality benchmarks for
application development and maintenance solutions. Customers today are looking
for partners who understand the new digital paradigm and can bring a unique
blend of design, business and technology to help fuel innovation and create
differentiation.
“The services we provide are
helping help firms to increase their operational efficiency, concentrate on
their own core competencies, reduce time-to-market, and build scalable and
economic digital technology platforms for the future. It’s because of these huge
benefits that our solutions are in demand in the UK and all over the world.”
