Sizzling New Sponsor for St Austell RFU Under 11's

The Kernow Sausage Companyhas stepped up to the plate as a sponsor for St Austell Rugby Club's talented Under 11's team, providing smart new shirts to keep the keen young players warm and dry during their busy season.

Gavin Roberts, Director of The Kernow Sausage Company, is an ex-Rugby player himself and was happy to provide the new kit, which had its first outing last weekend.

Gavin said: "I am so impressed with the coaching staff here at St Austell, who work really hard to get these youngsters warmed up and ready for the match; having the proper kit is a big part of that preparation and helps create a strong team spirit."

As an entrepreneur, Gavin knows only too well what a difference the right attitude can make; he set up his business from scratch in 2007 and has gone on to become a key figure in the local food and drink industry.

The Kernow Sausage Company now supplies some of the top restaurants, pubs and hotels in the South West with award winning sausages, bacon and pork cuts, as well as serving their products at food festivals and other events throughout the year.

Sponsoring this young rugby team is just part of Gavin's ethos of putting something back into the local community.

Andy Rice, from the coaching team at St Austell RFCs U11's said: "The boys and girls of St Austell RFC Under 11's are indebted to The Kernow Sausage Company for their generous sponsorship of the new training tops - they work hard honing their skills and it is important they are warm and dry during training, and before and after games."

He added: "The team have produced some great performances this year and we hope their new branding will only inspire them on to bigger and better things."

FURTHER INFO: The Kernow Sausage Company was started in 2007 by Gavin Roberts, a butcher who became disillusioned with the lack of respect and care he saw in commercial meat production. Having been taught to make sausages as a child by his grandmother, Gavin embarked on a venture to rekindle the love he believed had been lost from the industry.

The Kernow Sausage Company now supplies many of the top chefs and restaurants in the South West with award winning sausages, bacon and pork cuts, and appears at food festivals and other events throughout the year.
