The plant supplying domestic hot water within one of the main buildings on the University of Kingston campus in Surrey has been replaced with a pair of high performance Water Heaters from Stokvis Energy Systems.

Two Stokvis ECONOFLAME R6190 IP Water Heaters, together with two 300 litre stainless steel buffer vessels were specified and installed by Knightime Limited, an M&E contractor based in Coventry who work across the UK, serving a variety of sectors.

The contract focused on the University of Kingston's Penrhyn Road building which offers lecture, research and administration spaces.

Glynn Barrow, Managing Director of Knightime Limited commented: "As a preferred building services supplier at the University, we undertook the design and installation on a bespoke basis. This time it involved the main plant room at Penrhyn Road on the campus where there is a hot water demand from the kitchens, laboratories, washrooms and toilets.

"We hadn't previously purchased boilers or water heaters from Stokvis, but doing a comparison we found that they matched the performance of the main alternative and were more competitively priced. As an SME based in Coventry we provide bespoke commercial solutions for clients in all sectors, including food processing, education, the National Health Service and leisure; and based on our experience with this project, we are now looking at using Stokvis again for a contract concerning a large hotel chain."

The StokvisEconoflame R600 and R600 IP range of Boilers and Water Heaters all offer extremely high efficiencies and are gas fired, fully modulating, fully condensing and ultra low NOx in operation: providing outputs from 142 to 539 kW. The down firing premix burner arrangement can deliver seasonal efficiencies up to 110.4% and class leading low NOx emissions of between 15 and 35 mg/kWh. Furthermore, for retrofit situations, the compact size, with widths from 670 to 770 mm will often allow them to pass through existing doorways without any alterations being required.

Stokvis can also supply plate heat exchangers and evacuated tube solar collectors to offer the ultimate in hot water efficiency for properties of all sizes.
