North Yorkshire business announces third charity Supper Club details

 

Following the success of its first two charity Supper Clubs,Thixendale-based Charlie & Ivy's has announced details of its next event.
 

The third of four producer-led supper clubs to raise money forHOPING (Helping Other People In Need Group)York Street Kitchen takes place on 19thSeptember atThe Cook's Place in Malton. Diners will enjoy appetisers and a welcome drink on arrival, followed by a three-course supper cooked by the venue's proprietor, Gilly Robinson, which will include seasonal dishes using pickles, chutneys and jams from York-based Puckett's Pickles.
 

Jennie Palmer, Charlie & Ivy's marketing manager, has been delighted with the success of the first two events and is looking forward to welcoming diners to the third supper: "Over the course of the four events, we're hoping to raise £1,000 for HOPING, whoprepare and distribute meals for people in food poverty. The first two events were a great success, with delicious food and seasonally inspired dishes.

"Sarah Puckett's range of delightfully British pickles, chutneys, condiments and jams is made using British ingredients to recipes inspired by her forefathers. She's a natural orator, and we're looking forward to her storytelling as we enjoy delicious home-cooked food.Thanks to the generosity of Sarah and other local producers, including Luke's Bakery, Yorkshire Wolds Apple Juice and Masons Yorkshire Gin, all of the proceeds after costs will go to HOPING."

Louise Higham from Helmsley was a guest at the first event and said: "I can highly recommend one of these events. We had a fabulous evening and the food was delicious! Thank you to all involved in making our evening one to remember."

The date for the last Supper Club, which will follow the same format, with drink donated by Yorkshire Wolds brewery, Wold Top, is the 21stof November.

The Charlie & Ivy's range includesbread dippers, dressings, mayonnaise and marinadesthatare made using award-winning cold-pressed, rapeseed oil by parent company, Breckenholme on the farm in North Yorkshire. The Cook's Place specialises in courses from seafood to baking, with a host of classes and eventsthat areenjoyed by cooks and food enthusiasts of all skill levels.
