Parsley in Time’s ‘rollercoaster’ start to 2025 is capped off by FEA
award
London-based tableware specialist
Parsley in Time believes it’s time for some ‘cautious optimism’ about the
future, instead of the prevailing economic gloom. The company says that, despite the impact of
Rachel Reeves’ budget, its experience is that the hospitality industry has been
solid in its response, with sales increasing quickly as the year
progresses. Parsley in Time recently
opened a huge new showroom that is also helping generate business, and now the
company has won the coveted Independent Distributor of the Year award at the
Foodservice Equipment Association’s annual Light Equipment and Tableware (LET)
Forum.
“It’s been a rollercoaster start to
the year,” says Rob Blunderfield, Chief Operating Officer at Parsley in
Time. “January was much quieter than we
had hoped for, and we thought the going would be tough. But since February things have improved
considerably – in fact we are even busier than usual.
“A lot of the orders are from the
London area, and our new showroom is having an impact here. We’re
lucky as it’s handily placed and has plenty of parking, so London customers can
easily come along and see a big choice of products and concepts, from a wide
range of manufacturers.”
The showroom showcases a wide
range, from artisan tableware and buffet ideas to eco-friendly alternatives and
cocktail glasses, as well as advanced kitchen equipment such as the latest high
speed ovens. To help keep up with
anticipated demand, Parsley in Time has also opened a new warehouse.
“Obviously the warm weather has
been a factor in growing sales. But
buyers also seem to be looking to buy better, getting that balance of cost and
quality. They want choice, they want
products quickly and they want good after sales support.”
The icing on the cake has been
winning the Distributor of the Year award, which considers areas such as the
breadth of product range, sales growth, responsiveness to new products and undertaking
new initiatives. Announcing the award,
Paula Sherlock, chair of FEA’s Light Equipment and Tableware Group, said, “The
award recognises a business that has gone above and beyond in support of the
industry.” In fact, Parsley in Time was
also recognised in the Sales Professional of the Year Award, where Rob
Blunderfield was runner up.
“We were absolutely delighted to be
awarded Independent Distributor of the Year,” says Rob. “It’s capped off a brilliant few months –
long may it continue!”
