Their Journey: From Humble Beginnings to Global Presence

The story of Mont started in 1978, when founder Monty, frustrated by the lack of quality outdoor gear, borrowed a sewing machine to make his own sleeping bag, down jacket, and tent. This DIY spirit led to the founding of Mont Adventure Equipment in 1981. A key moment came in 1982 during Monty's rafting trip on Tasmania's Franklin River, a major environmental campaign that deepened Mont Adventure Equipment's respect for nature and reinforced their commitment to creating durable, ethical gear.
