Yorkshire Wolds rapeseed oil business to celebrate 10thanniversary with charity Supper Clubs

 

A Yorkshire Wolds rapeseed oil business is celebrating its 10thanniversary by hosting a series of Meet the Producer Supper Clubs in support of its charity of the year.

Thixendale based Charlie & Ivy's is collaborating with The Cook's Place in Malton to host four producer-led supper clubs to raise money forHOPING (Helping Other People In Need Group)York Street Kitchen whichprepares and distributes meals for people in food poverty.

The first event will be held between 7.30 and 9.30 pm on 3rdMay. Diners will enjoy appetisers and a welcome drink on arrival followed by a three-course supper cooked by the venue's proprietor, Gilly Robinson, using smoked produce donated by Beverley-based Staal Smokehouse.

"We're looking forward to celebrating Charlie & Ivy's 10thanniversary with a relaxed evening featuring a delicious, seasonally inspired supper prepared from Yorkshire ingredients. Diners will have the chance to ask the producer, Justin Staal, questions whilst Gilly prepares the supper for us all to enjoy. Thanks to the generosity of Justin and other local producers, including Luke's Bakery and Yorkshire Wolds Apple Juice, all of the proceeds after costs will go to HOPING."

 

Tickets for the supper cost £65 per person and each event is limited to 12 people. They are available to book online athttps://thecooksplacemalton.co.uk/.

The dates for the other Supper Club events which will follow the same format, with food donated by Yorkshire artisan producers, are 4thJuly, 19thSeptember and 21stNovember.

The Charlie & Ivy's range includesbread dippers, dressings, mayonnaise and marinadesthatare made using award-winning cold-pressed, rapeseed oil by parent company, Breckenholme on the farm in North Yorkshire. The Cook's Place specialises in courses from seafood to baking, with a host of classes and eventsthat areenjoyed by cooks and food enthusiasts of all skill levels.
