Barista Tech
offers full health check with PSSR test on all major coffee machine brands
Is your flat white a bit too flat?
Your espresso exhausted? Commercial coffee machines need regular
servicing as well as the annual PSSR check.
Now HTG’s specialist coffee division, Barista Tech, is offering a free
MOT for espresso machines, when businesses book their PSSR test via the company. The MOT will check that the machine is
running at optimum efficiency and, if it isn’t, will give the operator a list
of potential issues, along with a no-obligation quote for fixing things.
Barista Tech engineers are trained to carry out the MOT and PSSR test on
both traditional and bean-to-cup espresso systems. This means that whatever type of machine a
business has, and just about whatever brand, the engineer will be able to run
the test and advise on its state of health.
The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) mean that, by law, every
commercial coffee machine that uses an enclosed boiler system must have an
annual test. It is the foodservice operator’s responsibility to ensure the test
happens, whether they own, lease or rent the equipment. Failure to do so could invalidate insurance,
if a claim is made.
Unlike some coffee machine service providers, the Barista Tech engineer
automatically replaces the boiler valve as part of the PSSR test, to ensure
that everything is running safely. Barista
Tech also offers a comprehensive menu of service packages for coffee machines
and associated systems, including PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance)
contracts.
Typically a one-off PSSR test from Barista Tech, with the free MOT, will
cost around £249 + VAT for a two group head traditional espresso machine.
