Williams staff raise £350 for King’s Lynn wildlife sanctuary
Williams seals a year of fundraising with donation to local RSPCA

£350 presented to East Winch Wildlife Centre, the UK’s largest seal sanctuary

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting charities and good causes near its home of King’s Lynn, Williams Refrigeration recently donated £350 to the RSPCA’s East Winch Wildlife Centre.

Since opening in 1992 the Centre has cared for thousands of injured, sick and orphaned wildlife each year. In 2024 it cared for 3,100 animals, including 1,085 hedgehogs and 150 seals. East Winch is currently the largest seal rehabilitation sanctuary in the UK.

As part of Williams’ work with good causes, every year its employees select a charity to support.  They then hold fundraising events throughout the year. East Winch was chosen as 2024’s charity and the £350 was presented to Alice Puchalka, deputy manager at RSPCA East Winch, by Williams’ HR manager, Georgina Clark.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the donation by Williams Refrigeration, it definitely makes life easier for us,” says Alice. “It will be used on a variety of items we need including new housing for hedgehogs and equipment for the seals.”

The Wildlife Centre at East Winch is no stranger to Williams equipment, with a number of different models having been used there for various purposes down the years.

“The work the RSPCA does here is truly amazing,” says Georgina. “The staff at Williams love animals and wildlife, so doing something to help the RSPCA care for injured wildlife was very important.”

For 2025, the company’s employees have chosen to support Macmillan Cancer Support for its work in the local area. However, Williams will continue to support East Winch with a donation box at their headquarters, where staff will be able to donate items like towels, sheets and other beddings that are always in high demand by the Centre.
