Q-Park donates over €9000 to the Rotunda Foundation
Q-Park are delighted to be able to donate €9597 to the Rotunda Foundation as part of the partnership that provides discounted parking for visitors to the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin City Centre.
The Rotunda Hospital in Dublin, founded in 1745, is one of the world's oldest continuously operating maternity hospitals. Located on Parnell Square, it has played a pivotal role in the care of women and infants for centuries. The hospital is renowned for its advanced obstetric and neonatal services, including high-risk pregnancy care and a specialised Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Its historical architecture, including the iconic Rotunda Pillar Room, reflects its long-standing heritage. Today, the Rotunda combines cutting-edge medical care with a commitment to supporting families, making it a cornerstone of Ireland's healthcare system. The Rotunda Foundation (formerly known as the Friends of the Rotunda) is a registered Charity and the official fundraising arm of the Rotunda Hospital. It operates entirely on revenue raised through fundraising and sponsorship and relies upon the kindness and generosity of its supporters to help resource the Rotunda's research fund.
Q-Park took on operation of the Parnell parking facility as part of their acquisition of Park Rite which was completed earlier this year. Since taking over, Q-Park have undertaken a full refurbishment of the car park which also included fully rebranding it into the recognisable Q-Park House Style. With Q-Park Parnell being in such a good location in the North of Dublin City Centre, it has proved popular for those visiting Dublin for a number of different reasons, whether it was shopping, hotel stays or concerts at Croke Park. It was also used regularly by visitors, patients and staff of Rotunda Hospital which is only a short walk away.
Q-Park refreshed the discount agreement with the Rotunda Foundation and now visitors to the Hospital are able to validate their parking tickets and receive a discounted parking rate of just €7,50 with €1 from every transaction donated directly to the Foundation by Q-Park. This year, contributions to the Rotunda Foundation have helped fund essential programs and services, including advanced medical equipment, research initiatives, and patient-centred care for mothers, babies, and families.
Alastair MacDonald, Head of Commercial & Operation at Q-Park Ireland commented ‘As a socially responsible car park operator we are fully aware of the role we play in our local communities, we are therefore delighted to go the extra mile through our partnerships to provide both discounted parking for Rotunda visitors as well as a donation towards their Foundation.'
