Bradford garden centre group reaches final in three categories of a regional business award
The team at a Bradford-based garden centre group is celebrating after reaching the final of three regional business awards.
Yorkshire Garden Centres, owner of Tong, Tingley, Bingley and Otley Garden Centres, plus Dean's York and Scarborough, has been shortlisted in the Sustainability, the Large Business and theRob Burrow Outstanding Contribution to Charitycategories of theYorkshire PostExcellence in Business Awards.
Yorkshire Garden Centre's MD,Mark Farnsworth,said:"It's a testament to the efforts of our hard-working team to have reached the final in three categories at this year's awards. We are particularly pleased to be recognised for our fundraising efforts with a shortlist place for the new Rob Burrow award. Our teams work year round to support a wide range of regional and community charitable and are proud to make a difference in our local communities."
In the new Rob Burrow Outstanding Contribution to Charity award, Yorkshire Garden Centres faces competition fromKarl Avison from Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café, Regal Food Products Group, RJC Plant Services, Rob Northfield and Gripple.Fellow finalists in the Large Business of the Year areFMG, Kings Secure Technologies, Royal Armouries, Torsion Group and Zenith and in the Sustainability award, it's Ambion Heating, Burendo, instantprint, The Bio-D Company and Zenith.
The team will learn whether they have been successful at an awards ceremony at Headingley Stadium on 21stNovember that will behosted by BBC Look North anchor Amy Garcia.
Now in their 19thyear, theYorkshire PostExcellence in Business Awardsrecognise and reward businesses and the vital role that they play in Yorkshire's economic success.
