Premium entrance doors at affordable prices

The word ‘midori' means green in Japan. And in Japanese culture, the colour green symbolises wealth and fame. While improving your home requires a careful balancing of a budget, an affordable entrance door that screams quality will give any home renovation project that more prestigious cachet. Which is why Midori Aluminium fits Gerda entrance doors into the houses of its most discerning of customers - saving them money to boot!

"Gerda entrance doors give our customers that ‘rich' feeling without the need to be rich", said Midori's marketing director Vanisha Keshwala. "It looks great in the showroom, so immediately the aesthetics plays its role in the decision-making process for a homeowner. When you start going through the security aspects and the thermal efficiency of the door, you soon realise that this is a high performing, premium quality option that has the look and feel of a door that would usually cost you twice the price."

Midori Aluminium has recently updated its Leicester based showroom model with the Gerda SNUB Milano 4B door from the Optima 60 range. It features a Winchester FDW finish both externally and internally, complemented by two side panels, each measuring 500mm, with matte glazing that perfectly matches the door's design. The door is further enhanced by a sleek Amsterdam long pull bar handle in Black Anoda, measuring 1500mm, along with an internal TW300 level handle, also in Black Anoda, adding a touch of modern elegance to the overall aesthetic.

"The door has added a real wow factor for visitors to our showroom. Immediately it attracts their attention, and that attraction only gets stronger as we talk through the door's intrinsic security features and outstanding thermal performance," continued Vanisha.

Most people will look at composite doors when searching for a brand new entrance door. There is a massive variety on the market, and they come in a wide range of styles and colours. However, many composite doors are prone to warping, fading, bowing and twisting. Within months of fitting, many homeowners will experience doors that no longer shut properly, develop draughty gaps around the edges, and start to look tired and worn despite their relative newness.

The Gerda door is superior in every way. The natural market level for Gerda is the upper middle price point, including the burgeoning 70mm sector, with a performance the company knows is still superior to most GRP and PVC-U faced products currently available. The range covers formats from 60mm to 88mm, with thermal efficiency across the range between 0.79 W/m2K to 1.3 W/m2K. But the manufactured quality is in a different league, with a three chamber reinforced aluminium internal construction with PU cores, located into reinforced aluminium outer frames utilised across all doors. It compares comfortably with other premium doors in higher price brackets, with little discernible difference in performance or looks. Indeed, it gives that ‘rich' feeling without the need for you to be ‘rich'.

Which is why Midori's client base is snapping them up ready for the colder, winter months!
