Aport's Operations Manager, Chris Nutman, Joins Charity Bike Ride

Uniting for a Good Cause and Showcasing Our Logistics Expertise!

Aport is delighted to share that our team member, Chris, took part in the recent charity bike ride organised by the Cambridge contingent of BiotechBikers.

This event, which took place as riders cycled to The Artisan near Hemel Hempstead, served not only as a platform for networking with key stakeholders across the biotech industry, but also emphasised our commitment to supporting vital charitable causes.

The journey brought together like-minded individuals from Cambridge, London and Oxford, building a sense of community and collaboration within the biotech sector.

Participants shared stories, discussed industry innovations and developed new professional relationships while contributing to an incredibly worthy initiative.

The event featured compelling presentations from Emma Pulsford at Action Medical Research and Connor Myant, a recipient of an AMR research grant, sharing insights into their groundbreaking work focused on improving the lives of children suffering from rare and complex diseases.

"It was amazing to see so many dedicated individuals come together to support  such an important cause"Chris said."I am very excited to see  future improvements in care and treatment for these young patients that result from continued research."

Aport's commitment to excellence was exemplified through our logistics team, who played a crucial role in facilitating the transportation of bicycles for the event.

Under the skilled supervision of Ryan, our experienced driver, our van was loaded with bicycles, ensuring that they were carefully wrapped, secured and transported back to Cambridge after the event.

"We brought the same meticulous attention to detail to the bikes that we apply to handling our clients' invaluable lab equipment,"Chris explained.

"Our message is clear: we take care of every asset, big or small."

This typically smooth execution of logistics was a direct reflection of Aport's operational expertise, with our team working tirelessly to ensure all bikes were delivered safely back their owners.

It's not lab logistics, but it's logistics!

This level of dedication speaks volumes about Aport's values and mission in the biotech and logistics sectors.

We also want to acknowledge the tremendous effort put in by ride leaders, including Jason Brown (IMU Bioscience), Sunil Shah (o2h Group), Jennifer Harbottle (AstraZeneca), Jordan Palfrey (X-Chem), Emily Boyce (Healx) and Emma Pulsford (Action Medical Research), who meticulously organised the routes and ensured the safety of all participants.

Their dedication and hard work made a real difference, allowing riders to focus on camaraderie and enjoyment as they made their way through the course together.

"We really appreciate the hard work and enthusiasm of everyone involved,"Chris said.

"It's events like these that reinforce our sense of community."

Chris also emphasised that it's not too late to contribute to this important cause.

Donations to Action Medical Research directly support the pioneering research aimed at transforming the lives of children and their families facing rare diseases.

"I encourage everyone to consider donating, no matter how small the amount. Every contribution counts and helps move us closer to breakthroughs.".

Not only is it a chance to get outside, but it also allows us to unite for a cause that touches countless lives. Being part of an initiative that combines passion for cycling with heartfelt purpose is a truly fulfilling experience."

For those interested in seeking support for lab relocations or logistics-related queries, Chris is more than happy to assist.
