Redwings Horse Sanctuary receives £11,200 to help educate and promote Equine Welfare to centre visitors

SEIB Insurance Brokers (SEIB) are delighted to announce that Redwings Horse Sanctuary has received a donation of £11,200 from the Movement for Good Large Grants Award.  The Benefact Group's Movement for Good Awards are giving over £1million to good causes this year, with over £500,000 being granted in the larger grants category.

For many years SEIB has worked closely with Redwings on various campaigns promoting equine and animal welfare. The two organisations have consistently collaborated on annual events including Strangles Awareness Week and various webinars. Since 2018, Redwings Horse Sanctuary has benefitted from over £30,000 in grants directly from SEIB via their SEIB Giving Awards.

Educating families, school groups and animal welfare enthusiasts

Rebecca Hatcher, Trust Fundraising Officer at Redwings, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to have been awarded this grant from Movement for Good. It will be used to create an interactive paddock map at Redwings Aylsham Visitor Centre, in Norfolk, which we'd like to introduce at some of our other centres too eventually. Redwings Aylsham has 20,000 visitors a year including families, school groups and animal welfare enthusiasts, whose generosity we rely on to fund our vital work rescuing and providing lifelong sanctuary to the horses, ponies, donkeys and mules who need us."

"The interactive map will mean a more compelling and memorable experience for them and foster a deeper emotional connection with our equines and Redwings, hopefully driving stronger support and increasing income. It will provide information about all the equines who live with us at Redwings Aylsham - including where visitors can see them - information about the site, upcoming events, and important Redwings news."

The Movement for Good Awards large grants provide charities with flexible funding that can be used within three years and for a blend of project and core funding costs.

SEIB are proudly part of the Benefact Group, which is owned by one of the UK's leading grant-making charities, the Benefact Trust. The Movement for Good Awards are designed to help charities make a real difference in their communities.

The team at Redwings leave no stone unturned in their quest to provide the best possible outcomes for the horses and ponies in their care. Promoting equine welfare is so important to us at SEIB and working with and giving back to the equine community are long-held values within our business."
