Popular ‘art and ale' session to be repeated at a Yorkshire Wolds Brewery

Following the success of the initial ‘Can't Paint' art and brewery tour event earlier in the year, tickets have gone on sale for the second afternoon of art at an East Yorkshire brewery.

Nafferton artist Sandra Hood will lead the session at Wold Newton-based Wold Top Brewery on August 17thand the subject will be the iconic Wolds mammal, the hare.

"This is the perfect event if you've always dreamed of painting, but don't think you can. Tickets include a mini brewery tour followed by a demonstration from Sandra, who is then on hand to help you create your own masterpiece to take home," said brewery director Kate Balchin.

"Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time, or are an accomplished artist, be inspired by our beautiful top of the Wolds location, which is home to many hares, and enjoy an afternoon with a difference."

Tickets for the event, which runs from 2 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, August 17th, cost £36 per person and include a brewery tour, all materials, and a pint, Prosecco, or a soft drink on arrival. There is the option to buy an Afternoon Tea box, and refreshments will also be available throughout the afternoon. The bar will be open for any non-painting companions. The ale and art event is the latest in a series of events in the brewery's 2024 programme, which includes beer festivals, a 10k run, walking events, and the return of a Shakespeare touring company.

Wold Top was founded in 2003 and is located on the Mellor family farm at Hunmanby Grange near Filey. The team use home-grown barley and water from the farm's borehole to produce a range of award-winning cask, keg and bottled beers that are available throughout Yorkshire and nationwide.
