THE COTSWOLD PR COMPANY OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES

After 35 years of working in PR, industry guru Jo Welch has decided to invest in launching her own boutique agency

After 35 years of working in the PR industry, expert Jo Welch has launched her own PR company, based in Cirencester, the capital of The Cotswolds, serving the UK. Having spent her career to date working both agency-side and in-house for a wide portfolio of clients, Jo has finally decided to put all her energy into her own business and invest in herself. Joined by young and skilled Amber Anderson a recent Russell Group University graduate the team are a force to reckoned with.

Wednesday 12^thJune saw the official launch party of the business, at Henry's Seafood Bar & Grill in Cirencester, with entertainment by local band, Pip & the Bad Seed. Over sixty guests were in attendance to celebrate the new venture. They were treated to delicious pink canapes and pink fizz throughout the afternoon, and were given branded pink feather boas on arrival in true party style.

During Jo's welcome speech she talked about how the world of PR has evolved over the past three decades, fondly remembering her early career as ‘the heady days of 1980's Ab Fab', where editorial articles were secured over champagne and business was conducted face-to-face; there were no mobile phones, no emails, no internet, no social media and photography was all done on film. Jo has seen many changes in the PR industry over the years, and today embraces methods traditional and current when delivering client brand strategies. "It is all too easy these days to be ‘remote' and ‘virtual'. I continue to place huge importance on building personal relationships with clients, influencers, industry contacts and the media through face-to-face meetings and events", explains Jo.

Jo was bornin London, and raised in Berkshire and Oxfordshire, but now has her heart very firmly set in The Cotswolds. She moved to The Cotswolds, leaving her work in London, to raise and educate her children in the countryside. Throughout her career, in and out of London, she has had the privilege of meeting and working with many inspirational business leaders, who have significantly shaped her work professionally, and influenced her life personally.

Originally from Herefordshire and with new roots in Tanzania, Amber has a talent for social media, website design, copywriting and client communication and brings a fresh, modern perspective into the fast-paced PR industry.

The team have a vast and enviable range of contacts, and are skilled in every area of PR including social media, brand strategy, copywriting, media relations, rebranding, event planning, crisis management, charity work and sponsorship. They serve clients all over the UK from any industries spanning healthcare, interior design, fashion, automotive, hospitality, luxury, aviation, art and music.
