Fundraising Yorkshire Gin Night at Pickering Farm Shop and Café
A Pickering farmer and farm shop owner is hosting a charity gin night on 28th June to celebrate his part in the Macmillan Charity Race Day at York Racecourse.
On 15thJune, Karl Avison from the Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café will make history when he becomes the first person to take part in the Ride of Their Lives challenge for a second time in the race's 53-year history.
The Hatfields Land Rover-sponsored gin night is on the 28thJune and is the final fundraising event in a six-month campaign that has already raised over £33,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Macmillan in Yorkshire.
"It promises to be a great night, with gins from Rare Bird and Whitby Distilleries, Wold Top beer, live music from The Thixy Chicks and The Nobodys and Tracey and Stuart's fish and chips. It will be a fitting finale and a chance for everyone who has played a part in this amazing fundraising feat to celebrate," said Mr Avison.

York Racecourse and Macmillan Cancer Support continue to work in partnership to present the biggest charity race day in the UK and raise vital funds for people living with cancer. This year's team of amateur jockeys has raised over £188,000 to date.
