Captain Fantastic Captivates Kids at Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees Fundraising Event at Stag Theatre

21 May 2024:  Captain Fantastic, the UK’s premier children’s party franchise company attended a special fundraising event organised by Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees held at the Stag Theatre recently to entertain and engage children in an interactive science and magic disco show.  Nathaniel McCloskey, COO and chief entertainer at Captain Fantastic Kent, joined other performers, activities and acts to treat the children to a fun-filled day supported by the Major of Sevenoaks Councillor Claire Shea, which overall raised £10,034 for the Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees charity.

Nathaniel McCloskey, COO and chief entertainer at Captain Fantastic Kent explains: “We are on a mission to spread happiness and make memories and I was delighted to give up my time for this deserving cause and to offer more children the opportunity to have fun, explore and engage in the wonderful world of Captain Fantastic!”

Captain Fantastic was originally set up in London in 2010, and was franchised in 2017 with Kris Mitchell as first franchisee in Kent.  Now the entertainment company creates journeys of fun and safe adventure for children across the country, organising more than 2000 parties and events for 60,000 children every year.   From pirates to princesses, science to disco, each party theme has been created by professional actors and are all designed to be full of fun, excitement and laughter.

Humphrey Pring, Trustee, Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees commented:  “Everyone enjoyed Captain Fantastic’s visit to our fundraising event.  What a brilliant performance! The children really enjoyed the day and we were so grateful of the support from so many organisations and local people.”

Nathaniel will also perform at a fun event on 31 July 2024, to be held at St Philips Church, Salisbury in Tunbridge Wells organised by Clarion, an organisation commissioned by Kent County Council which works closely with Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees, Tonbridge Welcomes Refugees, Tunbridge Wells Welcomes Refugees and other refugee support organisations.  A science and magic show with silly puppetry and a fun book reading will provide free entertainment for refugees supported by Clarion.

Nathaniel continues: “We try and create a 360experience all around adventure, fun and games to create a magical time for everyone. At St Philips Church, as well as the main science show, I will also be giving away copies of Captain Fantastic’s new rhyming children’s picture book The Undersea Monster to refugees, and doing a fun book reading too.”

The Undersea Monster is aimed at Key Stage One and is the third title in the Captain Fantastic series available for the general public to buy on Amazon.  The story follows our intrepid hero Captain Fantastic and his loyal canine companion Wilson, as they travel through space to land on a remote blue, sea planet.  But Captain Fantastic doesn’t listen to Wilson’s wise words about the water and dives too deep, needing to be rescued right out of the jaws of the (not so scary) Undersea Monster!

Penny Morgan-Support Officer, Clarionconfirmed: “We look forward to welcoming Captain Fantastic to our event at St Philips Church.  I know the children will be  excited and captivated to learn about Captain Fantastic’s latest adventures and the performance will be a treat for all.”

Captain Fantastic has been voted the UK's Number One children's entertainment company by the trusted reviewing site FreeIndex.
