NOMINATIONS for this year's prestigious West Country Women Awards open this month with a sumptuous networking breakfast at sponsors Womble Bond Dickinson in Plymouth.

The awards celebrate and empower extraordinary women across the region. This year's awards promise to be bigger and better than ever, highlighting the diverse contributions of women who inspire us all.

Last year the West Country Women Awards drew 1,500 nominations of women across the four counties of the south west across 16 categories recognising women from all walks of life.

The launch will kickstart a seven month journey of appreciation, motivation, and support for women who continue to push boundaries, break glass ceilings, and make a positive impact in their communities.

The West Country Women Awards CIC aims to create a supportive community across the region and will be holding nominations events, training events, networking events and social events at prestigious locations every month until the Grand Finals on November 28th.

"We are a community dedicated to helping to bring people together, to work and to network together, to build and rebuild people and community and to give everyone, from our nominees onwards, an opportunity for growth," said co-Director Alexis Bowater OBE.

"Our seven month programme not only includes wonderful networking opportunities but also -  new for this year - confidence and public speaking training, empowerment and development workshops with special discounts for nominees and previous nominees, semi-finalists, finalists and winners".

Co-founder Tess Stuber added: "Being involved in the West Country Women Awards gives everyone, whether nominated, winning or supporting us as a sponsor, the opportunity to be involved in a supportive community and network that helps people from the moment they join in.

"This year, for the first time, we will be offering special subsidised workshops and training that help to ensure that when anyone needs to talk about what they, their business or their charity are doing then then they will be fully prepared. This means everyone is a winner, whether they lift the final trophy or not.

"Our wide range of categories recognise womens' exceptional accomplishments including in business, arts and entertainment, education, health and wellness, social activism, and more. By acknowledging the outstanding achievements of these women, we hope to inspire future generations to dream big and pursue their passions fearlessly."
