UK OutdoorIndustry Awards 2023 - WinnersAnnounced

 

We are very pleased to announce the winners of the UK Outdoor Industry Awards 2023, which were presented tonight at the 2024 OIA Conference at Drayton Manor Resort, Tamworth.

 

The award product range was split across ten categories: Accessories, Backpacks/Luggage, Camping Equipment, Climbing Equipment, Clothing, Footwear, Sleeping, Sustainability (a new category for 2023), Tech Accessories, and Tents, with a ‘Product of the Year' being awarded to the overall outstanding product.

The awards process started at the 2023 Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) held in Liverpool in June, where a judging panel, made up of experts from the outdoor industry as well as key journalists and retailers, selected the finalists in each category.

 

 

The judging panel comprised:Jacob Little, Outdoor Travel & Adventure Writer; Chris Starkie, Buyer,JDOutdoors; Chris Townsend, Gear Editor / Freelancer,TGO; Ben Weeks, Gear Editor,Trail; David Simmonite, Editor,Climber; Iain Duff, Editor,Camping; Sue Taylor, Digital Editor,The Camping & Caravanning Club; and Tina Collins, Editor, tentlife.co.uk.

 

The judges selected the finalists based on a range of criteria, including innovation, functionality, choice of materials, environmental friendliness, safety and commercial viability. Those finalists were then put forward to a consumer vote online between November 2023 and February 2024, with more than 1500 consumers casting their votes.

The winners across the ten categories are as follows:

  • Accessories:Silva Free 1200 XS
  • Backpack/Travel Luggage:Berghaus 3D Freeflow Backpack
  • Camping Equipment:Hydrapak Flux + Filter
  • Climbing Product:Edelrid Zodiac 3R
  • Clothing:Montane Fireball Nano Hoodie
  • Footwear:Superfeet Active Cushion Family
  • Sleeping:Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite NXT
  • Tech Accessories:Suunto Vertical
  • Tents & Awnings:TentBox Lite XL
  • Sustainability:Silva Terra Expedition S Compass

 



From these ten winning products, the panel of expert judges selected the overall ‘Product of the Year', which has been awarded to the Silva Free 1200 XS.

 


This year's winners, together with OIA Chairman Nick Giles and OIA Conference Guest Speaker Sean Conway.
